We are a hub for students from all over the world to meet, connect and learn from each other.

Make friends and learn first hand from experiences of your fellow students of working and living in Germany as well as how to make a good start.

Learn about habits, culture and the country of bratwurst and beer … and well, of course there is a lot more. Share your experiences with us and let’s find out together about our common European heritage.

Since we want to learn from you and with you, our working language is English. However, we are willing to assist you in refreshing or learning German, because it is not an awful language as Mark Twain puts it.

You want to start your career in Germany? We help you with advice, tips and our network to get started abroad.

Our Mission

Learn more about us and our goals and if you like, feel free to engage.
We want to foster Dutch-German friendship.

The German Society Groningen is a newly founded hub for all students in Groningen interested in Germany, its culture, and career perspectives in Germany. We know that Groningen is not really far from home, but we are there for your interests and those of all students from German-speaking countries. Furthermore, we aim to be the point of contact in Groningen for international and Dutch students that are interested in Germany’s culture or career opportunities. There will not only be social and cultural events but also networking and career events with featured companies from Germany. The aim of the German Society Groningen is to foster intercultural understanding and the friendship between Germany and the Netherlands.
